I wanted to make this cube more than just a standard cube so I added more details.
This is the final textured cube model I textured in Substance Painter.
I used this texture from Substance Share to give it that Sci-Fi look: https://substance3d.adobe.com/community-assets/assets/533a8848d960c0aa8d1028c753a602410430413e
Here is the pressure plate that I made in Maya.
This was another model that I separated into 2 parts as I want to animate it being pressed when you step on it or place a block on it.
This was the final texture I made from Substance Painter into Unity. I used emissive materials on the symbols as when I animate it, I want the player to know that they have activated it.
This is an overview of the first puzzle with these new assets in them.
Below is a video of the pressure plate being animated. Originally, I only made the middle part change colour but as I made the little monitors also an emissive material, I decided to animate those changing colours as well.
As a little detail, I made a little wire going to the lift from the pressure plate. Eventually, I plan on doing this to all pressure plates so the player knows where they lead and what they do. I might also make this light up when you stand on the pressure plate but I’m not sure for now.
I’ve also made prefabs for each pressure plate for each mechanic that they will interact with as this will help later when I need to quickly get a pressure plate for that specific mechanic.
