Area 2 Mirror Puzzle

I’ve been busy working on other assignments so this update took a while to get too. I managed to make it so when you fire the electricity through a barrier, it bounces off the mirrors. So far the mirrors do not turn off as in when you fire the electricity once it stays looping the electricity rather than turn off but this is still early testing. When you fire the electricity through the barrier, the tag on it changes to “MirrorElectricity” as a way to prevent players from going up to the last mirror in the puzzle and using the electricity on that. I spent a long time trying to make this work with trigger boxes but I couldn’t figure out how to use them with particle effects so I used the collision and made a timer so that when the electricity hits the barrier a timer starts for 0.1 seconds which reverts the changes I made when the electricity goes through it.

This is the code that changes the tag of the electricity when it goes through that barrier.

I managed to get it so that when you step on a pressure plate, the mirrors rotate. I made it a list so that I can rotate the multiple mirrors easier if I so choose to on later puzzles.


5th December

I managed to make it so the mirrors properly reflect. I also changed the particle effect of the reflection particle to make it look more like a beam. I also added a camera view next to where the player fires the electricity on the mirror so you can see what’s happening easier.
